Eid-ul Adha
Eid-Al-Adha is celebrated by Islamic communities across the world. As per Islamic Lunar Calendar, the 10th day of Dhu Al-Hijjah is celebrated as Eid-Al-Adha. In India, the fest is popularly known as Bakra Eid. Sacrificing and cattle is the main custom of Eid-Al-Adha. During the festival, people distribute the meat of the animal they sacrificed for the fest. This tradition is widely known as “Qurbani”. It falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijja, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar. Celebrations and observances are generally carried forward to the three following days, known as the Tashreeq days.
